20 official candidates named
NAGA CITY -- Twenty beautiful ladies, out of 30 qualified applicants, representing their respective provinces and cities in Bicol were finally named as the official candidates to the region’s biggest and most prestigious beauty pageant – the Search for Miss Bicolandia 2007.Selection and public presentation of the 20 finalists who walked the ramp in their stunning swimsuits were conducted at the poolside of Naga City Civic Center soon after a heavy downpour that started in the morning soon stopped at about 3:30 in the afternoon last Saturday, Aug. 25.
Of the 20 finalists, 7 came from Camarines Sur, 4 from Albay, 3 from Naga City, 2 each from Masbate and iriga City, and one each from Catanduanes and Camarines Norte.
The 20 successful finalists and official candidates to the 2007 Miss Bicolandia Beauty pageant are: Aiza Miraflor, 19, of Tabaco, Albay; Hazel A. Perez, 17, of Naga City, Reisha O. Constantino, 20, of Guinobatan, Albay; Lovelle SM. Buenaventura, 19, of Camaligan, CamSur; Rachelle January M. Ayao, 21, of Pamplona, CamSur;
Ariane Natalie M. Lim, 21, of Canaman, CamSur; Kristine Anne G. Brillante, 20, of Catanduanes; Michelle C. Lanuza, 17, of Sta. Elena, CamNorte; Windena Zaragosa, 20, of Naga City; Lorencia Mae Bueta, 19, of Masbate City; Tabetha Jo O. Frick, 17, of Pasacao, CamSur; Maria Venus B. Raj, 19, of Bato, CamSur; Linda S. Backlund, 17, of Iriga City; Shecill Bhertie S. Bagaporo, 17, of Iriga City;
Mary France D. Diaz, 21, of Canaman, CamSur; Princess D. Armillos, 18, of Nabua, CamSur; Kristina A. Alpapara, 20, of Polangui, Albay; Glecy Mica Manlangit, 19, of Masbate; Haven Marie Angelique, 20, of Naga City; and Lea S. Pillarda, 20, of Libon, Albay.
City Councilor Bernadette F. Roco, chair of the Naga City Beauty Pageant Council which manages the annual Mis Bicolandia search, said coronation night will be held in the evening of September 12 at the UNC Sports Palace with Manila celebrities as hosts and featured guest performers.
This year’s pre-selection and screening was chaired by former Naga City Councilor Dr. Sonny Ranola as chair, with the following as members: Amy Villafuerte, Farah Bongat, Sol Gusayco-Dy, Nicolas Beda Priela, Maribel Tan, and Atty. Angel Ojastro.
